A retro century tall floor uplighter lamp, made by Thorn EMI for use in commercial settings like schools where these originated from.
They feature an elegant metal stem with Art Deco design traits, with a chunky rounded metal base. It's topped with a domed plastic top which houses the concealed bulb. It's finished in an off-white colour. The on/off switch is bright orange and located at the top of the lamp.
The design is clearly postmodern although would not look out of place on a sci-fi set, mid century theme or even in an Art Deco environment.
It would be best suited to rooms with high ceilings. The subtle, gentle light omitted provides a nice atmosphere to any space. We love these oversized lights, they'd make incredible addition to the right homes.
