Set of 4 German Kreuzschwinger chrome chairs
A set of 4 German “Kreuzschwinger”chrome dining chairs, designed by German Architect Till Behrens and likely retailed by retailer Schlubach in the 1980s.
Once in a while we’re lucky enough to stock some incredible pieces of design and this is one of them. Invented by German designer Till Behrens in the 1950s, the “Kreuzschwinger” - literally meaning “cross swinger”, the chair is truly innovative as it allows the user to swing gently forwards and backwards without any mechanical parts.
Looks definitely deceive with these, and we can confirm they’re some of the comfiest dining chairs we’ve ever used. This is because the frame not only rocks, but moves with you, supporting different postures and body shapes. They’re quite heavy for their size and extremely sturdy. The chrome frame is durable - overall they’re a practical, innovative and stylish set of chairs. It’s no coincidence that they’re found in design collections around the world.
These don’t come up very often, especially in the UK, so this represents a rare chance to add a practical design classic to your home.
Pair them with a chrome and smoked glass dining table for a crisp, modern look, or even contrast them with a chunky solid oak or ash dining table.
The price also includes free shipping to most mainland UK locations as standard.
