A set of 4 mid century ladderback dining chairs designed by Greaves & Thomas for Schreiber in the late 1960s, and likely produced by Schreiber.
 
With their Scandinavian shape, this set of 4 chairs combines all the style and design quality of high-end builder Greaves & Thomas with the practicality and accessibility of parent company Schreiber furniture.
 
After Greaves & Thomas were purchased by Schreiber in the late 1960s, it offered an opportunity for Schreiber to re-design their whole range with the help of Greaves & Thomas, adding Scandinavian design influences for the mass market. To retain a high quality offering, Schreiber created range-topping versions of their designs using high quality materials such as rosewood and mahogany in some cases with the clear influence of Greaves & Thomas designers, and branded as such. Think Volkswagen and Porsche! These chairs share the build quality of both brands with nice touches such as the rosewood stain and the smooth cylindrical front legs, for a classic Scandinavian appearance. Because they were more expensive models they’re not very common, and a rare opportunity to own some late G&T models before the brand was retired a few years later.
 
They've been freshly reupholstered with a durable pale oatmeal coloured woven fabric.
