A set of 4 teak dining chairs made by British firm Meredew furniture in the 1970s.
One of our favourite British dining chair designs from this era (and in our view, underrated), these four chairs are full of style. Their most distinctive features are their angled, slatted backs with the chunky arched bar to the top cast in solid afromosia teak. The legs are gently tapered for that classic Danish style look. They're completed with four square upholstered seat pads.
They do have some sun fading which can be seen in the photos, part of the character and patina they've built up over 50 years.
The price includes some refurbishment work, including a deep clean and polish of the frames and renewing some of the glue in the wood joints, as well as replacing the existing upholstery.

For upholstery projects, fabric costs are always additional. We'd recommend Just Fabrics (search for FR to get the correct types of fabric) but you can use other suppliers, just make sure the fabrics are upholstery grade and fire retardant. You need to tell us what fabric you've chosen at checkout, and let us know whether you need us to order it on your behalf. Contact us if you’d like to discuss fabric prior to placing your order.
While we refurbish pieces to a high standard, expect minor signs of wear due to the age of the furniture. Please note that items specifically refurbished to order are non-refundable unless there’s significant transit damage or a discrepancy from the description.
